332. Identifying False Prophets
There’s been no shortage of false prophets over time. I define false prophets as anyone who “claims” to be god/a god or the word of god. Now, keep in mind, we all ultimately are. However, these people use this “title” in order to control and manipulate others. Oftentimes they are leaders of cults or other seemingly “dangerous” ideologies. Their claims are less often channeling and connecting with the collective, but simply a “script” that they’re running out of their own mind.
When I really start to think, I find that there are more crossovers than not. After all, many cults start out with a good cause. Or conceptually/foundationally, they do have a good cause. Particularly if they are aligned with new-age ideologies. However, the way that the false prophet operates typically instills a level of brainwashing that uses things for personal gain. Concepts are fundamentally right. The person and the way of information and persuasion used are wrong.
They don’t have any resonance. The concept may be right, but the way it’s being delivered doesn’t have a connection. claim they are more god-like/ascended than others. There may be a feeling that overall there’s a “disconnect”. This can be hard to observe over time, as you continue to become more brainwashed. I often find that it’s why a lot of the “script” ideologies are hidden at first. Because if the public were to see them in a non-brainwashed state, they would be totally baffled, confused, or disgusted. Before joining any organization, it’s incredibly important that you’re clear with what their goals, ideas, and values are.
They may speak about empowerment, but they retain control. If you don’t follow practices, you won’t achieve enlightenment. There should not be a “system in place which grants some people rights, and others none. Or really… if there’s any stripping away of people’s freedoms, this is a problem. Anyone and everyone should have full autonomy or say in their life, their choices, and their involvement with said organization.
Reign is typically short-lived or deteriorates rapidly. This can be due to a lot of reasons, particularly legal or financial, but it’s also due to the fact that they are not connected to the source. When you’re operating an organization that only exists out of fear or penalizing your followers, you are not going to have long-term loyalty throughout the duration of your reign. You may be able to keep people brainwashed for a certain period of time, but eventually the hunger for control becomes too much, and there’s a misstep. There’s always an inevitable overtake of power or whistle-blower event. People leave, gain clarity, warn others, etc.
They claim to know information others don’t or won’t. To be honest, this is the biggest red flag. If the leader is the only one who can communicate with god, there’s no other context for this… just run.
Hoard wealth or material possessions. It’s pretty self-explanatory. If there’s a clear indication that the point or usage of the organization is for the leader’s gain, it will be made obvious.
Excuse behavior with circular logic or reasoning. If leaders are exempt from questioning by making up excuses, it would fall under this category.
They are extremists, particularly anti-establishment. This is always intentional because it works in their favor. It’s an “excuse” to disconnect from society, reality, and “lie off the grid” where there’s less government or societal oversight. They do not want people to be aware of what’s going on or up in their business. The extremism is also closely tied to influence, power, and control.
Recommend you cut ties with your previous life. The fewer connections you have outside of the organization, the less threatening it is for the organization.
Recommend behaviors or rituals that are odd, uncomfortable, or destructive. There’s no doubt that throughout the initiation process, a lot of odd or uncomfortable stuff is going to happen. This is partially to test or gain your loyalty, but also to put insurmountable pressure on you to let go of your boundaries. You’re ultimately being groomed to make it harder and harder for you to say no.
At the end of the day, if you feel someone’s wrong (to you), then they’re wrong (to you). If you aren’t sure, you need to take a step back, consider other sources, or do more research. No organization should be telling you what to do with your life or how to live. No one should be intimidating you or making you feel uncomfortable.
